Cecilia is passionate about the power of music to transform and ‘make a difference’. Over the years, she has witnessed first hand that music can and does have a unique capacity to traverse, engage and unite people across all cultures and languages. She brings her varied and rich experience in the performing world back to the students she teaches. Over recent times, working between France and the UK, she gives masterclasses with conducting students all over the Aquitaine region with local orchestras, and is on the international Jury team for final year exam students presenting for the DADSM diploma, working with the Confederation Musicale de France in Paris. She teaches individual classes, too, for technique and repertoire, either in person or over the internet.
Cecilia has several times been invited to conduct as ‘Chef d’Honneur’ for the annual Eurochestries festival, which brings together talented young musicians from across the world to combine cultures and converse in the language of music.
An enthusiast of the renowned and worldwide Sistema movement, Cecilia has helped to forge links between its first Scottish base, near Stirling, and education hubs in Paris and Bordeaux.
